In 1979, 32 chapters were recognized as Superior and 12 chapters were recognized as Distinguished. Sigma Iota Alpha Iota Nu Delta Fraternity, Inc. Superior status and Distinguished status have consistently been a wonderful incentive for chapters to provide useful value to their members. Award-seeking chapters also increased their efforts in providing service to their local communities. Additionally, technical skills in the areas of accounting, finance, information systems and other topics were introduced or reinforced, helping develop well-rounded professionals. Chapters brought in professionals from local accounting offices to promote professional development by improving soft-skills such as resume building, interviewing techniques, business writing skills and verbal presentation skills.
